Welcome to the
Emory Center for Digital Scholarship
on the third floor of Woodruff Library.
This is a technology-rich collaborative space.
Here we work with faculty, staff, and students
to incorporate digital tools and methods
into research, teaching and publishing.
ECDS brings together an array of specialists
who collaborate on innovations
and open access digital scholarship.
Our areas of expertise include
peer reviewed digital publishing,
GIS and mapping,
Virtual reality and 3D modeling,
and analysis using network, statistical,
and text-specific tools.
Projects can lead us into the field,
from the Atlanta metro region
to the Georgia coast.
And into historical landscapes from Oklahoma
to the islands of ancient Greece.
We collaborate on public scholarship
with all nine schools on campus
and through partnerships with other
Atlanta area institutions and organizations.
We delve into the archives at the Rose Library
and we create platforms that bring materials
out of the archives and into the hands
of a worldwide audience online.
We also share the open source tools we create.
All of this comes together on campus
through consultations about projects,
publications and pedagogy.
We work with faculty to integrate
technology into teaching
and provide opportunities for students
to work and learn with us through our
digital scholarship internship program.
At ECDS we advance Emory’s mission
through innovative scholarship and research,
teaching, publishing, and public scholarship.
And we invite you to join us.
